Scot Kim

Scot Kim is a member of the Advanced Manufacturing and Transportation group within Gartner’s CIO research organization. Mr. Kim has over 20 years’ experience working in technology strategies. His areas of specialization include industrial IoT platforms, IoT analytic applications, edge IoT, manufacturing data management/visualization/insights.

Mr. Kim’s research agenda entails smart factory use case for manufacturers in modernizing their factory plants with autonomous mobile robots (AMR), automation and hyper-automation technologies and the connected front-line worker. Furthermore, emerging business models like Equipment-as-a-service (EaaS) and consumption-based services are other areas of coverage for both CIOs and vendors. Mr. Kim also currently evaluates Industrial IoT platform companies in the latest Gartner Magic Quadrant and Critical Capabilities
